KC Streetcar Constructors to Move Rail for Track Construction

Crews will work in the early morning hours of Friday, May 31, to minimize impacts to the traveling public.

(Kansas City, MO) - KC Streetcar Constructors will move two strings of rail from the staging area near 49th Street and Brookside Boulevard. The rail will be pulled into the existing traffic control on the west side of Main Street near Linwood Boulevard.

WHO: KC Streetcar Constructors, in conjunction with the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department.

WHEN: For the safety of all and to limit disruptions to the traveling public on Brookside Boulevard and Main Street, this work is scheduled to begin at 4 a.m. on Friday, May 31, and will be complete by 7 a.m.

WHERE: KC Streetcar Constructors will pull the rail from the rail storage area north on Brookside Boulevard into the existing traffic control setup near the Main Street and Linwood Boulevard intersection.

Cross traffic at the Brookside Boulevard intersections of 51st Street, 49th Street, Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard, and cross traffic at the Main Street intersections of 46th Street, 45th Street, 44th Street, 43rd Street, Vietnam Veterans Memorial Drive, 41st Street, 40th Street, Westport Road, 39th Street, 38th Street, 37th Street, 36th Street, Armour Boulevard, 34th Street, Linwood Boulevard and 32nd Street will be temporarily halted until rail, equipment, and personnel have cleared the intersection. Officers with the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department will assist with traffic control during this process to facilitate a safe and efficient operation.
