KC Streetcar Constructors to Move Rail for Track Construction
Crews will work in the early morning hours of Thursday, June 15 to minimize impacts to the traveling public.
Kansas City, MO - KC Streetcar Constructors will move a 30,000 pound track crossover from 51st Street and Brookside Boulevard to Westport Road. A crane will move the Westport Crossover from a truck into the existing traffic control on the west side of Main Street near Westport Road.
WHO: KC Streetcar Constructors in conjunction with the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department.
WHEN: For the safety of all and to limit disruptions to the traveling public on Main Street, this work is scheduled to begin at 3 a.m. on Thursday June 15, and will be complete by 7 a.m.
WHERE: KC Streetcar Constructors will move the track from the storage area near 51st Street and Brookside Boulevard north on Main Street into the existing traffic control on the west side of Main Street near Westport Road.
Traffic on Main Street between 39th Street and 40th Street will be temporarily halted until the rail, equipment and personnel have cleared the intersection. Officers with the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department will assist with traffic control during this process to facilitate a safe and efficient operation.
